Overview
There are two types of Desktops in TDX; the main Desktop, and the application-level Desktop. The main Desktop is what appears when you initially log into TDNext. You can add content modules from any of the applications you have access to. The application-level Desktop is accessible from within an application. The only sections available are specific to that application. Desktops are customizable and users can choose from a variety of layouts and content.
Important
- In most cases, Desktop content does not refresh automatically. You will need to click the Refresh icon in the top left of the screen under the Applications Menu (9 boxes) or enable Auto-Refresh.
- The system defaults to showing only 15 tickets in certain areas. You will need to Update Default Ticket View to see all your tickets.
Create a Desktop
- Log in to TDNext.
- Click the Application tab you want to add a Desktop to.
- Click Edit (your) Desktop.
- Click Edit Layout.
- Select a Layout.
- Select the sections you would like to include in your Desktop. The following sections are recommended, and allow you to see all of the necessary areas.
- Unassigned tickets
- Active tickets
- Assigned tickets
- On Hold tickets
- Closed/Resolved tickets
Below is what the Desktop View looks like if you set it up like the example above.
Delete a Desktop
- Log in to TDNext.
- Click the Desktop tab on the menu bar.
- Click the Manage Desktops gear located in the upper right below your name.
- Click Delete for the Desktop you wish to delete. Note: Only desktops created by you can be deleted by you.
- A pop-up confirmation dialog box will appear. Click Ok.
- Click the Back to Desktop button.
The system defaults to showing only 15 tickets in certain areas. In order not to miss tickets, change this setting.
- Click Settings (gear icon).
- Click the box that says Show top.
- Change the number to 100.
- Click the Save button.
The Enable Auto-Refresh option allows user desktops to be set to refresh automatically. If this is not enabled, you will have to refresh manually to see if there have been any updates to your Desktop.
- Click Edit (your) Desktop.
- Select the Details tab.
- Check the box to Enable Auto-Refresh.
- Click the Save button.
