How does Degree Planner work?

How does Degree Planner work?

Degree Planner collates data from ctcLink about student records, including:

  • courses completed
  • grades conferred
  • in-progress courses
  • incomplete courses
  • registered courses
  • transfer courses
  • test scores
  • milestones
  • placements

It also complies information about our courses from the course catalog, including:

  • course descriptions
  • course prerequisites
  • minimum grade requirements
  • available section offerings
  • class modality
  • class dates and timing
  • location

Degree Planner then filters that information through our catalog-based degree and certificate programs, including:

  • degree descriptions
  • degree prerequisites
  • total credits needed

Degree Planner then deploys a priority-based system using degree maps and historical course availability to generate a timeline of outstanding courses/electives needed to complete a degree in the least amount of time possible.
