Locating an In-Person Proctor for Students Abroad

Summary

Classes coded as “Online Asynchronous w/In-Person Activities” may require proctored examinations as part of the requirements of the course. Students that will be outside of the United States are responsible for finding a suitable proctoring location to take their exams during the allotted examination window.

Ideal international proctoring locations will either be a testing center at a college or university or an official testing center.  All testing sites are subject to instructor approval.

Student Responsibilities

  • Identifying a proctoring location within the first two weeks of the quarter. Please use the form below to reach out to eLearning for assistance. Please note that while eLearning can assist, you should continue searching for a proctoring location since you are more familiar with the area.

  • Sharing proctoring information with your instructor so they can approve or not approve the location.

  • Complete the exams within the testing window based on United States, Pacific Coast Time.

  • Pay all fees associated with the proctored exams, including transportation to and from the proctoring location.

Faculty Responsibilities

  • Respond in a timely manner when students provide proctor information. If you do not approve of their selected proctoring location, the student needs time to find an alternate one.

  • Collaborate with the international testing center to send/receive exam copies, etc.

  • Share a list of what resources students are allowed to use during the exam
