Academic Advisement Report (AAR) in Advisor Center

What is an Academic Advisement Report?

  • There is an AAR in ctcLink for every degree and certificate currently offered.
  • AARs are programmed into ctcLink and are Effective Dated. All the AARs originally entered in the system have an effective date of 1/1/1901.
    • When a change is made to a degree or certificate a new Effective Dated row is entered.
  • In order for an AAR to be run for a student the student must have a program/plan entered that is a degree or certificate.
    • If the program/plan is “Non-Award Seeking” or has not had the AAR programmed the system will not create an AAR for that student.
    • This program/plan will have a “Requirement Term” entered on the Student Plan Tab of the Student Program/Plan page. That term will determine which effective dated row of the AAR is used when the AAR is run.
  • The AAR automatically updates nightly when changes are made to the student record, such as:
    • The student registers for a course
    • The student drops a course
    • A course is graded
    • The student’s program/plan is changed
