Course Evaluations & Surveys (CES) for Instructors

Course Evaluations & Surveys (CES) is an online course evaluation tool by Watermark. The following information is applicable to Instructors.

Course Evaluation "Projects"

Several projects are created each quarter for various reasons. To understand what the project title means, see below. 

2024 Winter Evaluations 2/14/24 - 2/28/24 Project 7

  • Winter 2024: quarter and year
  • 2/14/24 - 2/28/24: the dates when the evaluation is available for students
  • Project 7: the 7th project that was set up for that quarter

CES Email Notifications

  • Instructors receive an email notification 10 days prior to the launch of the evaluations.
  • Students receive an email notification three days prior to the launch of the evaluations.
  • Instructors and students receive another email notification the day the evaluations are launched.
  • Students receive email reminders to complete evaluations if they have not been completed, and can opt out if the choose. 
  • Students receive a Certificate of Completion in their email after the evaluation is completed.
  • CES Administrators receive an email the day after the survey ends notifying them the evaluation results are available.
  • Instructors receive an email the day after final grades are submitted notifying them the evaluation results are available. 

CES Login Instructions

  • CES login link: shoreline.evaluationkit.com/MyEval/Login.aspx
  • Your username should be your ctcLink ID number but if that doesn't work, your Shoreline Network Account email address should.
  • If you are new to CES  or forgot your password, please go to CES and click on forgot your password to create a new password.   

Understanding Desktop View

  1. After you log into CES, you will see the Response Rate Tracker at the top of the page for the most recent projects. Use the slider button on the right to view more projects. 
  2. Below the Response Rate Tracker, you will see Project Results. This includes the most recent projects, including active ones.

View Scheduled Evaluations

  1. It is recommended that you log into CES 10 days prior to the evaluation start date and confirm that the correct classes are set up. If changes are needed, submit a request within 4 days so updates can be made prior to students receiving notification. Requests for opting out can be accomadated after the 4 day time window, HOWEVER it is likely that students will have been notified. 
  2. Log into CES and click Manage Courses

  1. You will see the project(s) that your classes are set up in. On the right hand side click the down arrow to View each course.

View/Print Response Rates

  1. The day after grades have been submitted, you will be able to see and print your response rates in CES.
  2. To view and print response rates for all of your projects, log into CES​​​​​, click Results, then click Response Rate Tracker.

  1. Click the Status box to select the status of the projects you want to view.

  2. You will now see all your projects and the response rates.​

  3. If you click the down arrow under View on the right side of the screen, an Excel file will download to your computer with the response rates for all your classes in that particular project.

View/Print Project Results

  1. To view and print all your project results, log into CES​​​​​, click Results, then click Project Results

  1. Click the magnifying glass on the right side of the screen to View all your courses in a project.

  2. Click the down arrow under Report on the right side of the screen, and select View Detailed Report + Comments. The report will download to your computer. If you would like to view/print several reports at a time see the next section titled View/Print a Batch Report.

View/Print a Batch Report

  1. Follow steps 1 and 2 above under View/Print Project Results.
  2. Click each box on the left side of the screen to select all the courses you want to view/print in that project.
  3. Click Batch Report.

  4. Name the report.
  5. Under Report Type, select Detailed Report + Comments.
  6. Choose radio button Download Multiple Reports as ZIP File for Selected Courses, and then click Go.
  7. You will receive an email with the batch report.

View/Print Instructor Results

  1. To view and print results from multiple projects, log into CES​​​​​, click Results, then click Instructor Results.

  2. Click the dropdown arrow under Project and select the projects you want to see results for.
  3. Click the Search button.
  4. Click the magnifying glass on the right side of the screen to View the results for a particular class, or if you would like to view/print several reports at a time, see steps 2-7 the section above titled View/Print a Batch Report.
