Exploring & Building plans in Degree Planner
IMPORTANT: Degree plans are intended to guide you in the selection of courses, but given the complexity of this process, the college does not guarantee plans will always be 100% accurate. If you have completed AP, IB, CLEP, DANTE, DLPT exams and/or college coursework from another institution, you may have already met certain requirements and may not need to take additional courses. You must talk with an advisor to have your plan reviewed and approved.
Printing
If you would like to have a copy of your plan, you can click the Print link in the tab bar to generate a PDF copy of your plan.

It will open in a new tab, and you can print or save the PDF copy. Example:

This PDF will include all information found in Degree Planner about this plan including the Courses, Schedule, and Requirements sections plus a summary.
Plan History
You can view the entire history of the plan by going to the More button and selecting Plan History.

Inside you will see the full history of the plan, and any revisions or approvals made by advisors, since the plan was created. When start you out, you will only see the plan creation date and time.

Student Record
You can view all the courses, test scores, and placement information from the Student Records page. Click the More button and choose the Student Records link.

Inside the Student Records page you will find a list of courses from your record at the top and a list of test results at the bottom.

Clicking on any course listed will provide you with information about the specific course and how Degree Planner used it to help satisfy requirements.

Information available here about each course is:
- Status (Completed, In-progress, Failed, Transfer, Withdrawn, Dropped)
- Grade (Grade Type and grade achieved, if available)
- Instructor (if available)
- Credit value
- Used by (the specific requirements Degree Planner used this course to help satisfy)
For the example above, this was a Transfer course, with a letter grade of B, worth 5 credits, used both as a General Elective and part of the minimum credit requirement.
You can see all courses and their application in the plan by opening them in Student Records.

Note that the failed record was not used by Degree Planner for any requirement.
Test Results will list any test scores or placements on your record.

For the example above, it shows that the ALEKS math placement test score was 61 points and that there was placement into an ENGL&101 course.
Rebuild Plan
The final option available for the More button in the tab bar is to rebuild a plan.

Clicking the link will bring you to the rebuild plan page.

This will look similar to searching and building a plan, except the plan name will be chosen for you and you cannot change it.
Rebuilding a plan allows you to effectively undo all your customizations and start over from the beginning. You can think of this as a reset - meaning that any course decisions or plan building you have made thus far will be deleted and the plan will start again from scratch. In most cases, you don't want to rebuild a plan, but it can be helpful when you want to reverse something, if the plan has been built incorrectly due to an error that has been addressed, or when you have taken followed the plan and taken courses but would like to refresh your available options and reset the remaining plan data. You also have the option to make new, identical plans in Degree Planner without having to rebuild, so keep that in mind and use rebuilding plans sparingly.
Deleting Plans
Only advisors or Starfish administrators are able to delete plans in Degree Planner. If you have plans built that you would like to have deleted for any reason, please contact your advisor or Starfish Support.
Requesting Approval
Once you have completed your desired customizations to your plan, you can electronically request approval of this plan to your assigned advisor using the Request Approval link in the tab bar.

This will prompt you to send a message to your assigned advisor. Please provide details about your plan and your goals. If you have not met with an advisor yet, we strongly recommend you wait to electronically submit a plan until you have had a meeting with them. They will have access to any plans you have built and can review them with you to make an approved plan.
