I just borrowed a Chromebook. What do I do next?

Before you start using the Chromebook, please read the following:

  1. Use Google Drive for document storage. Do not store data on the device. It will not save once you sign out. For more information on Google Drive, please search for the term “Google Drive” at the Shoreline Support Center at https://support.shoreline.edu/hc/en-us on our website.
  2. If you need to install an application, have questions or issues with the Chromebook, submit a request at the Shoreline Support Center at https://support.shoreline.edu/hc/en-us on our website.
  3. When you are ready to return this device, please drop it off at the Shoreline Community College Library on campus. View the Library hours on our website at https://library.shoreline.edu/home.

If you received the Chromebook via FedEx:

  1. Do not discard the FedEx shipping box and packing material that arrived with the device. You will need to use the box when shipping the device back to the college, or if you return it to campus in person.
  2. When you are ready to return the Chromebook, please submit the request on our website at https://www.shoreline.edu/elearning-services/laptop_checkout.aspxor drop it off at the Shoreline Community College Library on campus. View the Library hours on our website at https://library.shoreline.edu/home.

To sign into the Chromebook for the first time:

  1. Turn on Chromebook.
  2. Connect to the Internet.
  3. Click "Sign in with different account."
  4. Use your Shoreline student email address (Example: LastName@go.shoreline.edu)
  5. Use the same password you use for your Shoreline email account.

Signing into Canvas

  1. For Canvas Login & Support, please view instructions at https://www.shoreline.edu/elearning-services/canvas.aspx on our website.
