Splashtop is a type of remote-desktop software developed by Splashtop Inc. Splashtop enables users, who are granted a specific license, to remotely access or a computer from desktop and mobile devices such as a Chromebook. Splashtop enables remote computer access for businesses, IT support and help desks, MSPs, and educational institutions.
If a student requests to borrow a computer from Shoreline Community College, the students schedule is looked at to determine whether that schedule of classes warrants a Splashtop license to enable student the resources necessary for those classes. The IT Department then sends an email to the student Shoreline email address giving specific instructions for use.
You have been assigned your SplashTop license. Please check out your student mailbox and activate it then follow simple instruction below. If you will have any difficulties with SplashTop just reply this ticket.
Complete these four steps:
- Accept the invitation from your administrator.
- On the computers or mobile devices you want to remote from, install the free Splashtop Business app and log in. Use this URL link for downloading SplashTop app for Windows or Mac devices or use Webstore on Chromebook.
- After logging in, you will see all the computers your admin has granted you access to. Connect simply by clicking on the "Connect" button in the Splashtop Business app. If you don't see any computers, please ask your admin to help you set up the computers you want to remote to.
- Use your student credentials for sign in on remote computer.
