Zoom is a cloud-based video conferencing service that Shoreline faculty, staff, and students may use for live classes, online office hours and meetings, or as a backup plan to continue instruction if the college closes due to an emergency.

How to get started with Zoom
Request a Zoom account from Instructional Media by emailing media@shoreline.edu.

Account information and instructions will be emailed to you.

Technical Information
Download the Zoom app from Zoom.com, or from the Software Center on College-owned Windows computers.

Technical Support is available through the Zoom Help Center, where you can find FAQs, system requirements, and training videos.

Zoom is compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems.

Log in to your Zoom account
Website: zoom.us

Log in with your shoreline email, and the password you set when creating your Zoom account.

From your Zoom profile page, you can schedule a new meeting, access your Personal Meeting room, or join a previously scheduled meeting.

  • Zoom works best if you have a headset with a microphone. Headsets are available for checkout from Library Circulation. Headsets are available for purchase in the SCC Bookstore for a nominal cost.
  • Webcams are encouraged, but are not necessary to use Zoom.
  • USB Microphones are inexpensive, easy to install, and will greatly improve the audio quality of your conference.
