I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification

Effective August 1st, 2023 the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services has released a new I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification form.

New Hires

  • Complete ONLY page 1 of this new version (unless a translator is used, in which case also complete page 3).
    • Section 1 - completed by employee, must be signed by employee in the company of whoever is completing section 2, ensure all data is entered and legible
    • Section 2 - Supervisor/SCC Staff -> review page 2 for Lists of Acceptable Documents (employee chooses which documents to produce), complete and sign/date
  • Regardless of what documents are used for the I-9, we are still required to have a copy of their physical Social Security Card​​ for payroll purposes.

Returning Staff Within Three Years of Original Hire Date

  • Complete ONLY page 4 (check with HR on this to verify if it is necessary).
