How do I Update ctcLink Login Information for Canvas Login

When someone lets you know that their ctcLink login to Canvas is not working, it could be because they have been an employee with Shoreline for a long time.  At different points, we created accounts using various ways to log into Canvas.  When we moved over to ctcLink as the way to log into Canvas, we migrated all employees who used their Shoreline Email over to automatically use their ctcLink number.  Some faculty, years ago, was able to change the way they logged into Canvas and were able to use their personal email.  We have to change their personal email to their ctcLink number.  Follow these steps to check their login credentials and change it to their ctcLink number. 

  1. Log into Canvas.
  2. Click Admin.
  3. Click People. 
  4. Search for the person you want to find, via name, email, or ctcLink number. 
  5. Click their name.
  6. This will take you to their profile. 
    • In the section that says Login Information, the very first line should be their ctcLink ID number. If it is, then there is nothing to change and they should be able to log in.  If this is an email, then you will need to do the next steps. 
  7. Click the Edit (pencil icon) in the Login Information section.
  8. Add their ctcLink ID number in the box that states "Login."
  9. Click Update Login.
