What is Modern Campus Curriculum (formerly Curriculog)?

Body

  • Modern Campus. Modern CampusTM (http://moderncampus.com) is a technology company focused on solutions for the higher education market. Shoreline Community College licenses software from Modern Campus (MC).
  • Modern Campus (MC) Catalog: MC Catalog, formerly known as Acalog, is curriculum management software. At Shoreline, we use MC Catalog to drive an online, web-based annual catalog that includes all course and program (degree and certificate) information.
  • Modern Campus (MC) Curriculum. MC Curriculum, formerly known as Curriculog, is process management software used by Shoreline to create, maintain, and manage all course and program information.
  • Course and Program Design System (CSDS) and Master Course Outline (MCO) System. Software developed by a former Shoreline employee that was used from 2008 to 2022 for use in creating, maintaining and managing course information. Although originally intended to also manage program information that functionality was never added.

Shoreline implemented Acalog (now MC Catalog) in 2018 for use in publishing our annual catalog, and to become the 'system of record' for our program planning guides. In 2022 the course information previously held in the MCO system was transferred from the MCO system to Acalog, making MC Catalog our 'system of record' for all course and program information.

Curriculog (now MC Curriculum) was implemented at Shoreline in the spring of 2022. MC Curriculum allows existing course and program information to be imported from MC Catalog to be viewed or revised in a Change Proposal. Each change proposal then goes through a structured approval process in MC Curriculum, gathering electronic approvals at each step. Once a course or program has received final approval, the updated information is exported back to MC Catalog, populating the catalog for the upcoming year.
