Entering Absences in ctcLink

Overview

Use this document as a reference for how to submit leave requests in ctcLink.

Instructions

  1. Log into ctcLink.
  2. Select the HCM-Self Service Tile.

  1. Click on the Time Tile

  1. Select the Manage Absence tile.

  1. The Request Absence page displays, this page shows recent requests/cancellations.
  2. Enter the dates of your leave; Start and End.
  3. Select your Absence Name.
    1. You will only be able to see the leave types available for you to use.
  4. Click apply after dates are entered.

  1. Select your reason from the drop-down menu (optional).
    1. Reasons will change based on the Absence Name selected.

  1. Select the Partial Days grid link if applicable. You will need to click the area in red shown below.

  1. Select an option for the Partial Days menu. 
    • All Days – all days will be partial or half days.
    • End Day Only – Only the end day will be a partial day or half day
    • None – No days will be partial or half days
    • Start and End Days - Both the Start of the absence and the End are either partial or half days.
    • Start Day Only - The first day of the absence is a partial or half day.

  1. If the employee selected All Days, End Day Only, Start and End Days, or Start Day Only, they will need to indicate how many hours of the day(s) they will be absent.
  1. If all days being taken are half days, then leave the half day indicator at YES and click done.

  1. If the days being taken are not half days, then change the half day indicator to no and add the duration of hours.
    • You cannot do varying days in one entry; those will need to be requested separately.

  1. Enter the hours in the Duration field.
  2. Select the Done button.
  1. Click the Submit button.

  1. You will be taken to a screen that asks you to confirm your decision. Select the Yes button.
