How to Create and Sync a Blueprint Canvas Course

  1. An instructor requests a Blueprint class, BluePrint Request Form.
  2. Go to Canvas > System Admin > Courses and click on  + Course.
  3. Create new course following the name convention, BLUEPRINT COURSE NAME NUMBER QTRYR FACULTY NAME, example, BLUEPRINT GEOL 101 F18 PWADE.
  4. Copy the Course name and paste into Reference Code.
  5. Search for sub account and enter Shoreline Community College
  6. Enter enrollment term.

  7. Add Course.
  8. Open course and under Settings > Course Details, put a check mark in Enable course as a Blueprint Course, then update course details to save.
  9. On the People tab in the course, add People.
  10. On the Add users by, use login id.
  11. Enter Shoreline.edu email address, select Teacher Role and then, click next.
  12. Then click Add users.
  13. Go to Blueprint Course Tracking file
    1. Add their name, course name and associated item numbers to the Tracking file.
    2. Copy the course name from the BluePrint and add to the Tracking file.
  14. In TDX, reply to instructor with the course name and ask them to let Canvas Admin know when they are ready to to sync (associate in Canvas language) to their class numbers. Confirm the class numbers.

Ready to Sync?

  1. When you receive request to sync, go to Canvas and check each class section number to confirm that there isn't any content in them.
  2. Locate the Blueprint and open the class.
  3. Click on Blueprint icon located in the upper right corner.  Blueprint Icon and then, click on Associations.Blueprint Add Associations
  4. Search for quarter, then enter class number(s).
  5. Then click Sync.
  6. Syncing process will run.
  7. Enter date synced on Blueprint Course Tracking file.

Team Dynamix

  1. Reply to TDX ticket that the association is complete and submit as solved.
