Adding New Instructors to eLearning Resources for Faculty Canvas account and Faculty Handbook

Every 3-4 weeks you will want to check the new faculty list to add them to the eLearning Resources Hub and to the Faculty Handbook in Canvas. This will also need to be done every week 3 weeks before the start of any quarter (this is when most are added). 

  • This is the link that the AA4s use to update us on new hires.  You will want to go to that site, check to see if any new hires have been added.  You can tell if they are new, because we have not stated that we added them to either the Hub or the Handbook. There is a tab for each quarter, I often go back and look at previous quarters as well just in case we missed any or any were added. Once you add them to the two courses, you want to add the date in the "Added to Faculty Handbook and eLearning Resources Hub" column.  Here are the courses they need to be added to:
    • Faculty Resources Course 

    • Faculty Handbook 

    • When you add the faculty to these courses, also send a list of new hires to an Instructional Designer (Justin or Brandon) and let them know they are new faculty for them to reach out to. Send the ID a list of their names and email addresses. 

  • Jason L in TSS has created an API to auto add faculty to these courses (starting Win 2024). Check in with Jason to find out history.  It still is not working as of Spring 2024.
