How to opt out of faculty evaluations

Starting Winter 2024, all courses will be set up to receive faculty evaluations. They are optional if you are NOT on an evaluation cycle. Unfortunately, the Learning Resources department does not have the ability to track faculty evaluations cycles. In order to opt out you must confirm that you are not on an evaluation cycle. If you are not sure if you need to receive student responses to faculty evaluation questions, please talk to your dean or AA or HR. The opt out form will have to be completed each quarter, as Learning Resources does not have the ability to track long term requests.

Per the SCCFT Local 1950 CBA page 21:
"A comprehensive evaluation report that includes documentation of the process, all evaluative material collected during the college year, summary of progress, and recommendation for continued probationary status or tenure. Submitted by the dates indicated below.
(1) For candidates whose appointments begin in fall quarter, by the last day of week 6 winter quarter for evaluation of the sixth, seventh, and eighth quarters; by the last day of week 6 winter quarter for evaluation of the third, fourth, and fifth quarters; and by the last day of week 8 winter quarter for evaluation of the first and second quarters.
(2) For candidates whose appointments begin in winter quarter, by the last day of week 7 spring quarter for evaluation of the sixth, seventh, and eighth quarters; by the last day of week 7 spring quarter for evaluation of the third, fourth, and fifth quarters; and by the last day of week 7
spring quarter for evaluation of the first and second quarters.
(3) For candidates whose appointments begin in a spring quarter, by the last day of week 8 fall quarter for evaluation of the sixth, seventh and eighth quarters; by the last day of week 8 fall quarter for evaluation of the third, fourth, and fifth quarters; and by the last day of week 8 fall quarter for evaluation of the first and second quarters."

Faculty will be notified 10 days prior to evaluations opening to students via email. If a faculty member would like to opt out, it is requested that they fill out the form within 4 days of receiving the initial email notification so the Learning Resources Program Coordinator can make corrections before students are notified. Students will be notified 3 days prior to evaluations opening. Opt out requests can be made after the 4 days, HOWEVER this does not guarantee that students will not be notified about evaluations.

Faculty can opt out by filling out the Faculty Evaluations Opt Out Form
