eLearning Peer Mentor Program

What is an eLearning Peer Mentor?

eLearning Peer Mentors provide support and guidance to fellow students (mentees) navigating online and blended learning environments. They help to facilitate a smooth transition into and acclimation to Shoreline, serve as role models, encourage self-reflection, and foster accountability.

The role of an eLearning Peer Mentor is to support student success by:

  • Providing guidance related to campus resources, departments, and support services.
  • Helping to navigate online learning platforms and troubleshoot basic technological issues.
  • Providing a framework to set and achieve realistic, attainable goals.
  • Sharing tips and strategies for staying motivated, organized, and engaged in one’s studies.
  • Offering emotional support to overcome challenges such as isolation, stress, and self-doubt.
  • Promoting belonging, engagement, initiative, and persistence in all aspects of life.

Benefits to YOU - the Mentee!

Peer mentorship has been shown to improve the following for the mentee:

  • Academic achievement
  • Self-efficacy
  • Social skills
